Side by Side Cymru peer support shared learning workshops delivered by Mind Aberystwyth.
If you are a member of a community group, or an individual who wishes to set up a group, come along to either the Cambria, Marine Terrace, Aberystwyth or the Glenalla Community Centre, Glenalla Raod, Llanelli and find out about Side by Side Cymru, about the benefits of peer support and how to apply for up to £250 in grant funding (subject to availability). Both events are from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
The workshop will cover what peer support is, what the benefits of peer support are and top topics for running a community group: dealing with common challenges; codes of conduct; boundaries; experience in common and how we connect. Three hours to include registration, networking with other groups, workshop activities and refreshments. Each community group attending will receive a free copy of Mind’s Peer Support Development Toolkit.
Groups new to the West Wales peer support network hosted by Side by Side Cymru will be asked to join the network at registration. Attendance at workshops and applications for grant funding only available to network members.
Previous work shop attendees have said :”Very much made me think about what I do and how I can do it better”, “the whole talk was informative and great tips to break the ice with new people coming to the club”, and “engaging, variety of information and topics”.
Also “The way (the trainer) handled the course was brilliant, especially the kind way (he) treated one of our (members) in particular. I know for certain that they all enjoyed the time there and certainly learned a lot”.
Both venues have wheelchair access and accessible toilets. Nearby on the road car parking. Nearest pay and display to the Cambria, Aberystwyth is St Michaels Church.
