A perinatal mental health service designed and developed by mums for mums.
Mums Matter is an early intervention service aimed at mums struggling to enjoy their pregnancy or baby due to mild to moderate mental health problems: anxiety, depression, low mood, or intrusive or worrying thoughts. The perinatal period is typically considered to be during pregnancy and up to a year after birth. The course is suitable for pregnant mums and those with babies and toddlers.
Mums Matter offers a safe, supportive environment to meet other mums. We provide an opportunity to talk through issues and offer a straight forward toolkit of helpful Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based tools that mums can use day to day. Encouraging ongoing peer support is built into the course. We offer a creche facility and there is even a session when mums can invite their partners or supporting family members to take part.

Mind Aberystwyth will be delivering 8 week courses in Ceredigion, details to be confirmed.
As well as meeting mums and making new friends the course will include how to nurture yourself, how to cope with negative thinking patterns, and how to be kind to yourself. Mid-way through the course there will be an additional drop in session where you can bring your partner or supporters.
