Laura Mccready from Ystrad Fflur is completing 3 amazing challenges over the next few months to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Mind Aberystwyth. We are grateful to Laura for thinking of us as she aims for these challenges.
Here is her story:
“My Name is Laura and today (With only 24 days to go) I’m asking for help from my friends, family, and all those who would be kind enough to raise £1000 to donate to Cancer Research UK and Mind Aberystywth in memory of two friends that lost their battles this year.
As many of you know, last year I took part in my very first Spartan Sprint Race and had the time of my life! For those of you that don’t know, ‘The Spartan Races’ the First, Known as the Spartan Sprint, Which is held in Edinburgh on July 23rd, is a 5k run over rough terrain with 20+ obstacles thrown in! These can include… jumping over fire, crawling through a muddy river with barbed wire above your head, 8 feet walls, carrying a concrete block up a mountain… The list goes on!
But this year is a little different for me, this year I will be completing the Spartan Trifecta. This means that I will be completing 3 Races in total, The Spartan Sprint (5km+ with 15+ Obstacles at Spittal Farm near Edinburgh) The Spartan Super (12-16km with 24-29 Obstacles in Peterborough) and The Spartan Beast (19-22 km with 30-35 Obstacles in Windsor). This is a massive Challenge for me, and over the next four months I’m going to be doing everything I can to reach my £1000 goal, telling you how the money you help me raise will be spent, and telling you about the twp special people that were lost this year.
It would mean so much to me if you were able to give to these two amazing Charities and show your support for me in these… well… INSANE goals I’ve set myself!

“WOW! I can’t believe this has come round =so= quickly! In just a week I’ll be in Edinburgh for my first race!! I’m so excited!!
