Cardiff Half Marathon Fundraisers: Emma’s story

Aberystwyth University Student Emma is finding the training quite tough but she is determined to carry on and achieve her goal of running the half marathon!

Why is Emma raising money for Mind Aberystwyth?

She says “I’m fundraising for my local Aberystwyth branch to ensure that everyone in Aberystwyth and the local area has access to mental health support if they need it.

If you are able to help me reach my target of £200 it would be very much appreciated. No matter how much you can spare, every little helps, even if it’s just the price of your next pint.

I’ll be updating this page weekly with my running progress as I attempt to get myself from barely being able to run 2 miles, to running 13.1 miles. My aim is to complete the race in 2h20, to beat my half marathon time of 2h40 from last year.

For every £2 donated, you’ll be entered once into a draw for a box of Roly’s delicious fudge, courtesy of my workplace. The 2nd and 3rd names drawn will win a smaller bag each. A £10 donation will enter you 6 times. Please leave your name so I can contact you if you win! Prizes can be posted anywhere within the UK. Please help me reach my target for Mind!”

Thank you from everyone at Mind Aberystwyth, we really appreciate it!
