If you are a volunteer member of a community group, or a volunteer who wishes to set up a group, come along to The Cambria, Marine Terrace, Aberystwyth (opposite the Pier) and find out about Side by Side Cymru, how to access free networking and training and how to apply for up to £250 in grant funding (subject to availability). Commencing at 10.00am and finishing at 12.30pm.
Peer support is when people use their own experiences to help each other. This can be through a group, one to one or online and may involve activities such as crafts, walking or meeting for coffee. The Side by Side Cymru peer support network in West Wales currently has over 90 member organisations and has awarded over £11,000 in small grant funding.
This event will include what Side for Side Cymru can do for you and your group: what peer support is and what the benefits are; topics such as boundaries and signposting; active listening; and dealing with challenges. Please click below to download the workshop schedule:
Two and a half hours to include registration, networking with other groups, workshop activities and refreshments. Each community group attending will receive a free copy of Mind’s Developing Peer Support Development in the Community Toolkit and each individual a Certificate of Attendance.

The Cambria has wheelchair access and an accessible toilet. Nearby public car parking at St Michaels Churcn. Individuals and groups new to the West Wales peer support network will be asked to join the network at registration.
